The Impact Of Untreated Gum Infection, Not Only To Oral Health

Studies showed that individuals with severe periodontal disease or gum infection are have significantly increased risk for cardiovascular disease. Periodontal disease is a chronic gum infection that does not only affect the oral health of an individual but also to its overall health. The bacteria that causes the infection can travel its way from the mouth to certain parts of the body triggering certain medical conditions to take place.

Increased risk with cardiovascular conditions are often the effects of severe or advance periodontal disease. Tooth loss is also the primary effect of gum infection especially in adults. Gum infection can access the bloodstream resulting and may cause damaging effects to the immune system such it can weaken it allowing the body system to acquire diseases easily.

It only takes a good oral care regimen to effectively prevent the unhealthy impacts of gum disease. Brushing and flossing should be diligently done regularly including rinsing the mouth with salt and warm water solution to keep bacteria away that causes gum infection's occurrence. And dental check ups are necessary for early diagnosis and treatment of gum diseases.
